The big news of the moment is that the Association Dianae Lacus will be giving a presentation of the project in the Italian Parliament in Jauary where it is likely the vice president of the Council of Ministers will be present.

It is furthermore hoped that other news will be issued at that venue.

The two shipyards involved in the project are also at a relatively advanced stage with regard to construction plans and actual commencement of work at this point can be seen as a realistic possibility soon.
News just in 13-11-96 The Association Dianae Lacus has just been officially given the official patronage of the Region of Lazio.
Furthermore the Province of Rome has also given its official patronage to the initiative.

Following official contacts between the association and the Italian Navy base at Castellammare, the personnel of the base, stimulated by the project, have discovered plans and drawings of the ship which nobody knew existed. In addition several artifacts have come to light which will now be restored.
