Now armed with just about as much official backing as it is possible to get we now can concentrate all our efforts on the sponsorship aspect and get the construction going. It may even be that funds can be allocated to the project from money set aside for "Jubilee" celebration projects. This project would qualify admirably and perhaps would be one of the few proposed so far, to have a lasting effect on the local surrounding countryside in terms of tourism and local economy.

It is hoped therefore, certainly with a degree of optimism, that real construction of the hull may start in the spring of this year leaving the prospect of having the completed ship ready, well in advance of the 2000 celebrations if the 2 year timescale for the construction is adhered to.
